Warriors return home with blowout win

LAGRANGE – The LaGrange Academy Warriors, after dropping a pair of hard-fought road games over the weekend, returned home and handled Oak Mountain 63-22 on Tuesday.

Senior Lincoln Anderson did a lot of the offensive damage with 30 points, and he scored 15 of his points in the third period.

In the girls’ game, LaGrange Academy fell 63-60 in overtime.

Leah Major had a big game for the Lady Warriors with 23 points, and Alexus Scott added 14 points, and Laney Anderson scored 13.

LaGrange Academy got within one on a Scott free throw with 10 seconds left, but it was unable to score again.

TROUP: The Lady Tigers continued their stellar play of late by beating home-standing Cartersville 59-36 on Tuesday.

Troup (11-6 overall) improved to 4-1 in Region 5-AAAA.

Kwyneshia Spence led Troup with 18 points, Amber Gilbert added 13 points, and Shaqoya Gilbert scored eight.

In Tuesday’s boys’ game, it was Cartersville beating Troup 50-41.

The Tigers fell to 2-3 in the region.

Troup’s teams will be at home against Sandy Creek today.

LAGRANGE COLLEGE: In a women’s game, it was LaGrange College beating visiting Pensacola Christian 57-54 in overtime.

Lauren Johnson led a balanced LaGrange College offensive effort with 13 points.

Austin Richardson added 11 points, and Jeris Johnson had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
