Man arrested for allegedly enticing child

Police Reports

One man was arrested on Friday for reportedly trying to make indecent contact with a 14-year-old girl.

Mark Eugene Lewis, 59, of Troup County, was taken into custody by a Troup County investigator assigned to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Internet Crime Against Children taskforce.

Lewis was charged with criminal attempt enticing a child for indecent purposes and violation of the computer/electronic pornography child exploitation act, stated TCSO officials.

Lewis remains in the Troup County Jail without bond.

TCSO investigators also worked with LaGrange Police Department detectives to bring Lewis under arrest.

Stolen Car

An employee from the Auction Way Company at 1001 Hogansville Road reported a car was stolen from their parking lot.

The employee told LaGrange Police the car, identified as a 2014 Nissan Altima 2.5 S, was taken some time between Jan. 18 and Jan. 20.

The vehicle was valued close to $16,000.

THS student arrested

A Troup High School student was taken into custody for disorderly conduct while on campus on Friday.

The student allegedly punched another student three times inside the gym, according to the police report.

The student who reportedly perpetrated the incident then began cursing at school administrators and refused to cooperate with them, the report read.

A LaGrange Police officer, who is also the school resource officer, placed the student under arrest.

As the officer attempted to search the student, he started cursing, kicking and fell to the ground, according to the report.

The student was transported to the Troup County Jail and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
