Wendy Garrett Atkins

Mrs. Wendy Garrett Atkins, 53 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at Hospice LaGrange.

Born August 6, 1963 in Warm Springs, Wendy was a lifelong resident of Greenville.  A member of the Greenville Presbyterian Church, she was a 5th generation elder and also served as treasurer. She was a retired Meriwether County Volunteer Firefighter and worked at Durand Wayland in LaGrange.

Survivors include her husband, Scott Atkins; daughter, Sarah Blair Atkins, both of Greenville; step-son, Luke Atkins of Hogansville; mother, Keedie Garrett, brother, Sandy, both of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, E. C. “Cotton” Garrett.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 3, at First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange.  The Reverend Amy Arnold and Reverend Cade Farris will officiate and interment will be in the Greenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Friday morning.
