Troup County has an All Pro for Bass Pro Shop, it is the King of Crappie, fisherman Joey Mines. Joey has had his own TV show for 34 years and has customers coming from Texas, Maine, Michigan and dozens of other states each year to go fishing with him. Last year the group for Texas flew in, fished with Joey for three days, went to Callaway Gardens for a day and then to the Little White House. While here, they just had to try all the great places we have to eat here. Why am I talking about Joey? This Friday and Saturday he will be The Fishing Pro in Atlanta at Bass Pro Shop. Joey is a great storyteller. If you are in need of a speaker, give him a call. He told the Kiwanis Club how at Clemson with his wife’s help out of a possible 4.0 grade system he had a 4.4. So not only can he show you how to catch a boat load of fish, he can make you laugh while you’re with him. This is a huge honor to be the official Fishing Pro for Bass Pro and there is no one in Troup County with a bigger heart than Joey. He has been the host of Camp Sunshine from the very start, giving of  his time and talent for kids with cancer. So a special pat on the back to Joey, you have done us proud.
