Mrs. Malinda Lee Reed-Carter, 65, of LaGrange, GA passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 am, ct (12:00 pm) noon at the Mt. Zion AME Church, Opelika, AL with the Rev. Wendell Jones, Pastor, Pastor Carmen A. Walker, Eulogist and Dr. Clinton Elder officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s cemetery.

Mrs. Reed-Carter was a 1969 graduate of Harrison High School. At an early age, she joined Keeney Memorial UMC, West Point, GA.  She attended Faith Temple Church, LaGrange, GA.

Malinda was employed with Interface for several years before failing health.  She enjoyed traveling and cruising with friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. James C. Carter, Jr.,  and her parents, Joe and Carrie Mae Reed.

Malinda leave to cherish her precious memories: her two sons, DuWayne Carter, LaGrange, GA and Bryon (Kara) Carter, Opelika, AL; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter; one sister, Erma (Cornelius) Morbley, Las Vegas, NV; two brothers, Ervwin (Yalanda) Reed, Lagrange, GA and Ben (Brenda) Reed, West Point, GA; one god sister, Sarah Clark, New York, NY; one aunt, Robin Jackson, Anniston, AL;  mother- in- law, Fannie D. Carter, Valley, AL; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Hervey, Yolanda Carter, Valley, AL and Shurby Jean Copeland, Atlanta, GA; three brothers-in-law, Kenneth Carter, Hope Mills, NC, Anthony (Carolyn) Carter, Opelika, AL and Teddy Carter, Valley, AL, a host of nieces, nephews cousins and a host of relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at the M.W. Lee Mortuary.  The family may be contact at 1200 Davidson Street, West Point, GA.
