Public Safety Reports

Investigators with the LaGrange Police Department are searching for six men who allegedly robbed a victim while he was sitting in a car in the 200 block of Beechwood Circle just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday.

The victim told investigators the men surrounded the vehicle. Two of the males allegedly brandished guns and demanded money, according to the report.

The victim gave the suspects an undisclosed amount of cash and his cell phone, the report stated.

The six men then left the area on foot, investigators said.

The suspects were reportedly part of two separate “groups” that did not live on Beechwood Circle but met together in the area before allegedly committing the crime, stated Sgt. William Nelson.

It was unclear as of press time on Tuesday if the victim knew any of the suspects.

The victim drove to Pierce Street before calling 911, LPD officials stated.

The incident remains under investigation.

Robbery by snatch

A juvenile reported two youths snatched his cell phone from his hand while he was walking in the 100 block of Turner Street about 4 p.m. on Monday.

The suspects also allegedly threatened the victim if he reported the crime to police, said investigators with the LaGrange Police Department.

The two youths then left the scene and walked towards the Tall Pines apartment complex, the report stated.
