LaGRANGE – With almost three decades of service under its belt – eleven of those at its current location – a locally owned and operated clothing store is excited to continue helping people look good for years to come.

Looking Good will have been in business in LaGrange for 29 years next week, and while the local clothing store has moved from its original downtown location, the same family who started the business have continued to provide the community with formalwear on LaFayette Parkway for more than a decade.

“My parents put up the store, and we’ve been going on for 29 years,” said Manager Danny Bakshani. “The customers here have been very supportive, and the surrounding areas have supported this business too.”

Like many local stores, the staff of Looking Good agree that the customers from here in town are the best part of being in business in LaGrange, and as a family-owned store, a special emphasis is placed on the importance of the families who shop there.

“This is a family-oriented business, and it treats its customers as family, and so they try to give the best deals and the best prices that they can do,” said Trevis Hart, a sales associate. “They try to help people out a lot. They’ve been around for several years, and people have grown up with Looking Good. We have second and third generation people that are shopping with Looking Good and investing in the community because it is a community business.”

Part of being in the community is helping people get ready for life events like weddings and proms, and the local store does its best to make it affordable for people to celebrate in style.

“Right now we are in the prom season, so we are gearing up for prom which we provide one of the best deals in town (on tuxedoes),” said Bakshani. “We give customers the best service.”

While prom season is a big part of the store’s business, it is also expanding its selection to cater to weddings, and the family-owned store aims to help people find suits for every occasion regardless of the season.

“We have our suits everyday on sale here,” said Bakshani. “We don’t wait for any special events. Just come in and see us for a suit for any special event, and we have it on sale.”

The store carries a wide variety of brands and makes a point of carrying things that might be hard to find elsewhere – like large sizes in dress shoes.

Looking Good is located at 1520 LaFayette Parkway. The store is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
