Wendell Martin passed away Thursday in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

He was born on December 21, 1947, to Julian McKinley and Elease Russell Martin in LaGrange, Georgia.

Wendell graduated from East Deport High School in LaGrange and furthered his education at Ft. Valley State University with Degrees in Education and Masters in Guidance and Counseling. Upon completion, he relocated to St. Lucie County, Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Linda King Martin; one son, Renard Martin; five grandchildren; brother, Julian McKinley Martin; sister, Rosa M. Huzzie; sister-in-law, Bernice S. Martin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, god-children; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 11:00 at First Baptist Church, Fannin Street. Rev. Carl Epps will officiate. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.
