Wesley Franklin Walters

Mr. Wesley Franklin Walters, age 102, of Five Points, Alabama, formally of LaGrange, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation. Wesley was born September 22, 1914, in Douglas County, Georgia, the son of Henry Oresta and Selma Beatrice Walters. Wesley served his country during World War II.  He entered the United States Army Air Force on September 23, 1942, and was Honorable Discharged on September 23, 1945. He retired after owning and working Walters Grocery and Service Station in LaGrange for many years.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law’s: Jerrie Lee and Bobby Weaver of Fayetteville, Ga and Sophie and Don Baker of Five Points, AL; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, 10 step-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving family and friends, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home, LaGrange. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Shadowlawn Cemetery, with Rev. Tommy Smith officiating.
