LaGrange soccer teams win on road

CEDARTOWN – The LaGrange Grangers have been held to two goals in their three region games so far, but they’ve managed to win them all.

After opening its Region 5-AAAA schedule with 1-0 wins over Central-Carroll and Sandy Creek, LaGrange didn’t score a goal in regulation or overtime against Cedartown on Tuesday.

The game went to penalty kicks, and it was LaGrange prevailing to secure the 1-0 victory.

In the girls’ game, it was all LaGrange.

Maggie Asbell scored five goals to help lead LaGrange to a 10-0 win and improve to 3-0 in the region.

Caroline Thompson added three goals, and Maddie Patton and Abby Mazzolini had one goal apiece.

Mazzolini also had two assists, and Patton and Hannah Asbell each had one assist.

Goal keeper Maurie White had three saves.
