Just last week the “new and improved” Obamacare plan was found to be greatly lacking in the one thing most conservatives want. No government involvement in healthcare. It seems that the RINOs, and even many who were supposed to be conservative Republicans including our own Drew Ferguson, decided that when we elected them to repeal Obamacare, we meant repeal and replace. WE DID NOT! I noticed that right after it began to actually look like the Democrats would lose the White House that the verbiage from our Republican leaders, media, talking heads, etc… changed from repeal, to repeal and replace. They almost never uttered repeal alone any longer. I believe that this was to begin the psychological engineering of the public to think that was what we wanted. Not a total repeal but a replacement still allowing governmental involvement in health care. NOT SO!

I think maybe they got the message this week when they got little support from the true conservatives and the RINOs were called out for their participation. Thanks to the Freedom Caucus for holding out and doing what we truly want. Kill it the same way it was born; flat all out total repeal. Let the insurance companies fight over how to implement and cover the new market. Paul Ryan and the progressives almost re-designed Obamacare and left us with the same, only different, health care plan.

There was a posting from Congressman Ferguson last week entitled “Ferguson: Keeping the promise to repeal Obamacare.” In the article he even says “I committed to repeal Obamacare and undo the damage it has done to our health care system.” But if you read into the article he actually voted to repeal AND REPLACE it with the “new” AHCA.” I stated that this was misleading and sent him a letter asking for his position and why he voted for the “new” AHCA after promising to repeal Obamacare. I got no response. I hope we all keep reminders of voting records of our local, state, and national officials so we can be reminded of what we send to Washington and what they actually do for us when they get there. I am greatly disappointed in Mr. Ferguson’s first important vote and now feel that we might have made a mistake in sending him to represent us.

Why is it so hard for our politicians to just repeal Obamacare? Because they don’t want to. All of the blustering, wailing, shouting, and gnashing of teeth that went on when Obamacare was being debated and made law was for the cameras, and their voters to see. Behind the scenes it is apparently wanted by many who call themselves conservatives, and vowed to repeal it if they ever got the chance. Well I think we missed a big chance to do just that. And I for one will not forget who was driving the issue. I only post my opinion in my small town paper, and hope that all across America others will do the same, to remind these politicians who sent them there, and who can send them home.
