John Will Turner

Mr. John Will Turner, age 92, of LaGrange, passed away on April 8, 2017 at the WellStar West Georgia Hospice.  Mr. Turner was born on May 17, 1924 as one of eleven children in Lowell, Georgia to the late Alvin Lawrence Turner and Clara Cole Turner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of forty eight years, Louise Wheelus Turner.  Mr. Turner proudly served his country in the United States Navy, followed by many years at West Point Pepperell where he was a Corporate Auditor.  He was a member of the Unity Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon.  His passions in life were his Lord, his family and his farm.

Survivors include his wife of twenty three years, Barbara Ayers Bearden Turner; his sons, Larry Turner and his wife Sheila of LaGrange and Donny Turner and his wife Pam of LaGrange; daughters, Linda Hodges and her husband Donny of Longs, South Carolina, Joyce Wood and her husband Gary of LaGrange and Bonita Davidson and her husband Charles of Monterrey, Mexico; step-son, David Bearden of LaGrange; brother, Horace Turner of Loganville; sisters, Inez Musick of Carrollton and Barbara Shelton and her husband Harold of Pine Mountain; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Higgins LaGrange Chapel with Rev. Doug Bingham and Rev.
