Julia Nancy Thornton Traylor

Julia Nancy Thornton Traylor passed away Friday at Christian City Rehab Center in Union City.

She was born January 6, 1926 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late, Joshua and Lilla Florence Thornton.

As a child, she grew in Christian Faith at First Baptist Church of LaGrange. Later in life, she joined the True Holiness Church of God in Jesus Name where she served faithfully until her health declined.

She was employed by Dixie Mill for a short time; and then Crawford Center for Special Need Children, and Pathway Center.

Survivors include four children, Linda Thornton (Larry) Gillespie, Nashville, TN; Charles S. (Dichondra) Thornton, Atlanta, GA; Johnny F. (Vanessa) Traylor, LaGrange, GA; and William M. Traylor, Atlanta, GA; four siblings, Marion V. Towns, Albert L. Thornton, Harvey (Yvette) Thornton, and Gwendolyn Cranford; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and close cousins; special friend, Mary McPherson; and two special caregivers, Mrs. Lesa Robinson, LaGrange, GA; and Carolyn Frazier-Traylor, Atlanta, GA.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday at 12:00 at First Baptist Church, Fannin Street. Pastor W. Craig Thornton will officiate. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.

The family will be at their home 210 North Lee Street and will receive friends in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8.
