Robert T. “Bob” Blackwell

Robert T. “Bob” Blackwell, 82, of Wadley, AL passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Morgan Blackwell of Wadley; two daughters, Susan Keller (husband, Jim) of St. Amant, LA, and Jeannie Polhamus (husband, Toby) of Cataula, GA, ; five grandchildren, Drew Polhamus (wife, Ashley), Kennedy Polhamus, Morgan Keller, Anna Kate Keller, and Grace Keller; one great-grandchild, Luke Polhamus; one sister, Sandra Dolly of Panama City, FL; two brothers, Jim Blackwell of Crosswell, MI, and Owen Blackwell of Marianna, FL; one sister-in-law, Sue Blackwell of Burlington, NC; and one brother-in-law, Willis Edmondson of Alex City, AL.

A Walker County native, Mr. Blackwell was born on January 19, 1935, the son of Robert Wilburn and Pauline Elmore Blackwell.  He attended the First United Methodist Church of Wadley, worked as a pharmacist for Corley Drugs in LaGrange and Edco Drugs in Alex City, and was a member of the Randolph County Republican Party and the NRA.  Mr. Blackwell was also a United States Army veteran.  He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Robert Morgan Blackwell; one brother, Charles D. Blackwell; and two sisters, Ramona Blackburn and Laura Edmondson.

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Blackwell will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wadley First United Methodist Church’s General Fund or to Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.
