LAGRANGE – They didn’t have to wait long to find out they’d be playing another game at Callaway Stadium.

After beating Cairo 6-0 on Tuesday in the second round of the Class AAAA state soccer playoffs, the LaGrange Lady Grangers waited to see who their next opponent would be.

Shortly after LaGrange’s game ended, Jefferson finished off a 3-0 victory over Woodward Academy.

That meant LaGrange was going to be at home for its elite-eight matchup, and it will take on Jefferson on Friday at 7 p.m.

The winner will advance to the final four, perhaps to take on a powerful Marist team.

Marist will play Spalding County in another elite-eight matchup.

LaGrange is the champion of Region 5-AAAA, while Jefferson finished third in Region 8-AAAA.

After getting a late goal to beat White County 1-0 in the first round, LaGrange was in control from the start against Cairo on the way to the blowout win.
