Rufus Cox

Rufus Cox passed away Sunday.

He was born March 20, 1947 to the late, Marvin and Irene Cox in LaGrange, Georgia.

He joined Friendship Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Anderson. He was a faithful member of the gospel music group, Wings of Faith, of LaGrange, Georgia.

Rufus graduated from Ethel W. Kight High School, Class of 1966.

He worked for many years at West Point Pepperrell’s Dixie Mill.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cox; two daughters, Tara (Jeffery) Fluellen and Tiffaine (Gary) Flowers; two sons, Trey Foster and Aston Render; two brothers, Grover Cox, Tommy (Rosetta) Cox, Sr.; three sisters, Catherine Johnson, Ethel (Rev. John) Tompkins, and Marian Byrd; brother-in-law, Arnold (Penny) Woodyard; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Friday at 1:00 at Friendship Baptist Church. Gabbettville. Rev. John Tompkins will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
