Betty Ann Slaugther

Betty Ann Slaugther passed away Wednesday at her home.

She was born October 3, 1954 in Valley, Alabama to the parentage of Ella Mae (Henry Lee, deceased) Hardnett and the late, John Winston.

She united with Smyrna Baptist Church in LaGrange, Georgia, under the leadership of Pastor Lonnie Walls where she remained until her death.

She was employed for over 30 years with Milliken & Company before retiring in 2013.

Survivors include her mother, Ella Mae Hardnett, her children, MaKeyda (Latacha) Hardnett and Morris (Tashawna Holloway) Slaughter all of LaGrange, GA; fifteen grandchildren; eight sisters, Flora Harrison, Dorothy Ridgeway, Diane Brewer, Robin (Randy G.) Hardnett, Loretta Hardnett, and Ruby T. Truitt all of LaGrange, GA; Ethel Lee (Warren) Vines, Carrollton, VA; and Geraldine (Jimmy) Strickland, Valley, AL; six brothers, Willie Lee Hardnett, James “Baby-G” Hardnett, Randy Hardnett, Jeffrey J. Hardnett, Alvin (Rosie) Hardnett all of LaGrange, GA and Jimmy (Daisy) Winston of Valley, AL; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and treasured friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Monday at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, Fannin Street. Rev. Lonnie Walls will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens.
