The trial of a man accused of driving the wrong direction on Interstate 185 is set to begin on Tuesday.

Humphrey Kisia Semo is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle, serious injury by a vehicle, reckless driving and possession of a scheduled I controlled substance.

Semo was allegedly driving his SUV southbound in the northbound lanes of Interstate 185 the night of May 21, 2015.

He collided head-on with another SUV on I-185 just south of the Hamilton Road exit, according to Troopers with the Georgia State Patrol.

Two people in a red SUV were killed on impact. One other person inside the vehicle was hurt and flown to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment, troopers said.

Semo was also hurt in the wreck and taken by helicopter to Grady Hospital in Atlanta.

Another driver was injured when they ran off the road to avoid Semo’s SUV, GSP said.

The State and Semo’s attorney started picking a jury Monday afternoon.

The trial is set to begin on Tuesday.
