Luther “Seborn” Jackson Smith, 91, of LaGrange, GA was received in the arms of Jesus on Friday, May 26, 2017.

Mr. Smith was born April 16, 1926 in Randolph County, AL to the late Josh Smith and Minnie Mae Smith. He retired from Milliken Live Oak after 52 years of faithful service. Mr. Smith was a charter member of Independent Church of Worship and attended faithfully until his health declined. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Dewayne Lynch; son-in-law, Bobby Moore; four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Bartha J. Smith; daughter, Laura Naomi Moore; grandsons, Jimmy Lee (Tammy) Lynch, Christopher Jackson Terry, and Wayne Clyde Terry; eight great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

The Gathering of Family and Friends will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be 3:00pm Sunday, May 28, 2017 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Jerry Scarborough officiating. A Private Burial will be held in Restlawn Memory Cemetery.
