Mary Sue Folds Harmon

Mrs. Mary Sue Folds Harmon, 94, of LaGrange, passed away June 8, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice.  Mrs. Harmon was born July 25, 1922 to the late William Franklin Folds and Annie Lee Dollar Folds, in LaGrange and lived there all her life.  She was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church along with many of the Folds family.  She worked for J. C. Penny in its downtown location for many years and was also a homemaker.  Mrs. Harmon loved her family first and foremost, and cherished her nieces and nephews of which she had many.  She loved to work in her yard tending to her plants and flowers and spent countless hours researching genealogy.

Mrs. Harmon was preceded in death by her husband, Larkin W. Harmon, son, Rodney L. Harmon, sisters, Annie Alma Folds, Jeanette Folds Cohen, Laverne Folds Richard, and Ludia Mae Folds Moore; brothers, Marvin, Ridley, Emmitt, Eddie B. and Albert and several nieces and nephews.  Left to treasure her memory are daughter, Mary Harmon Jordan and husband Walter (Rocky) of Walker, Louisiana several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and other family members and beloved friend, Rachel Shiver.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday from the chapel of Hunter Allen Myhand Funeral Home with Dr. Paul R. Baxter and Reverend Bernie Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted but donations can be made to First Baptist Church on the Square, East Vernon Baptist Church or West Georgia Hospice in memory of Mary Sue Folds Harmon.
