Minister Elizabeth Marie Heard passed away Tuesday at WellStar West Georgia Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born September 2, 1953 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late, Isaiah and Daisy Bell (Harris) Heard.

She joined Louise United Methodist Church of LaGrange, Georgia at an early age. She became ordained as a Minister on January 23, 2005 under the leadership of Pastor Gary Winters.

Elizabeth was employed at Freudenberg-NOK for over twenty years.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Chanda Bates (Anthony) Gillon and Latonia (Gregory) Smith; grandchildren, Marquez Amey, Jabari Smith, Kenedi Bates and Jaden Smith; one great-grandchild; five sisters, Mrs. Nadine Sturdivant, Mrs. Dorothy (Jasper) Cameron, Ms. Debra Harris, Mrs. Marycene (Leroy) Cameron, and Ms. Brenda Heard; two brothers, Mr. Charlie (Sandy) Heard and Mr. Eddie B. Heard; one aunt, Ms. Johnnie Mae Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday at 3:00 at Louise UM Church. Pastor Jairo Gay will officiate. Burial will follow at Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.
