Gun clip found while cleaning theater

A 9 mm Glock clip containing 17 bullets was found inside the AMC Theater on Main Street Saturday night at 6:03 p.m.

The cleaning crew found the gun clip while cleaning up. There were no marking or identification on the clip.

Drunk Woman calls police, reports false drive-by shooting

The LaGrange Police Department responded to the report of a drive-by shooting on Wright Street Sunday at 1:37 a.m., but when they arrived they found only an intoxicated female.

The woman was walking on Hamilton Road near the intersection to Wright Street. Police noticed she was unsteady on her feet and she wasn’t speaking normally. They also smelled alcoholic beverages and she was allegedly holding travel that was half filled with beer.

Police asked if she made the false 911 call and she allegedly told them it was because she wanted them to get to the location faster. She then allegedly said she made a second 911 call because she had been kicked out of a party on Wright Street and didn’t think anyone had the right to make her leave.

She was taken to Troup County Jail and cited for public drunkenness and open container.

Police involved in car chase Friday

Police were involved in a car chase Friday evening at 10:34 p.m. on Troup Street. The car was allegedly going 50 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone, traveled across the center of the roadway and ran several stop signs.

The police report says the driver reached nearly 80 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone before slowing down at Orchard Hill and Lukken Industrial Boulevard. The driver then pulled to the right of the road.

The odor of burnt marijuana could be smelled as officers walked up to the vehicle, which was occupied by two people. A bag of a green leafy substance, which was believed to be marijuana, was also found in the car.

Man allegedly takes car keys off porch

A woman on Baldwin Street flagged down police after an acquaintance took her vehicle without permission.

The woman was sitting on her porch when a man walked up. She left her car keys on the porch as she went inside to use the restroom and when she returned the vehicle and the man were both gone.

Police searched the area but did not find the vehicle.

Woman calls police to get 2-year old from car

A woman called police Monday at Kroger after she accidentally locked her 2-year in the back seat of her vehicle.

The woman said she exited the car on the driver’s side and went to remove her son, who was in the back seat. She then realized she left the keys inside her car, so she could not get inside. The LaGrange Fire Department arrived on scene and she provided consent to extract the child from the car.

The child did not require medical attention.
