Mr. Laddie S. Yates,  81, of LaGrange passed way Sunday afternoon at Hospice LaGrange surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Yates was born February 19, 1936 in Roanoke, Alabama the son of the late Ned & Ivey Lee Brumbloe Yates.   He was retired from Defender Industries as a supervisor having previously run the water plant for Milliken & Company .  He was a member of Creekside Baptist Church and played and sang with the following gospel groups (Potter’s Children, Christianaires and Highlanders).

He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Shirley Ann Freeman Yates (May 29, 2014) and a son Rowdy Laddie Yates.   

Laddie is survived by his three daughters. Diane Hein, LaGrange, GA , Leisa & Ricky Matthews, LaGrange, GA and Liz & Joe Paylor, Montana. two Sons, Danny Hoffman, Tucker, GA and Gus Yates, Kansas.

Four Grandsons: Jason Headrick, Deano & Nick Matthews, Rowdy & Ned Yates. Three granddaughters Jennifer Benard & Tammy Brown & Sylvia Peacock ,  12 Greatgrandchildren,  5 Great Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Laddie S. Yates will be held at 4:00 P.M. Thursday from the Creekside Baptist Church with the Reverend‘s Brian Geter, Danny Geter & Ray Tarwater officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 o’clock .
