LAGRANGE – It’s tournament time.

The Dixie Youth Baseball District 1 tournament will get under way on Friday in Manchester as a host of teams look to take the first step toward a possible World Series title.

Tournaments in two different age groups will be held in Manchester, and they will go through Wednesday.

There are six teams in the 9-10-year-old tournament, and the top two finishers will advance to the state tournament.

There are five teams in the 11-12-year-old tournament, and the top two teams will qualify for the state tournament.

The state winners advance to the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series.

The other teams are Schley, Manchester, Thomaston and Marion County.
