Troup Co. Deputy knocked over guard rail in wreck

A Troup County Sheriff’s Deputy was injured after being knocked over a guard rail Thursday morning while working an accident on I-85, according to Troup County Sheriff James Woodruff.

Deputy Stephanie Masouka was talking to the driver of a wrecked pickup truck when a tractor trailer struck the back of the truck and knocked her over a guard rail. The incident took place at around 6:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

Both Masouka and the other pedestrian were transported to Columbus Medical Center where they are being treated for their injuries. The Georgia State Patrol is working the accident investigation.

Stolen jeans returned for gift card

Two females allegedly returned a pair of stolen jeans at Belk on Lafayette Parkway.

A store prevention officer met with police and said that a woman went to the register to return a pair of jeans and received a gift card totaling $154.34. The store’s lost prevention officer said he is familiar with the woman because she also stole jeans at the last store he worked at. He told police he knows they were stolen from another Belk store because when they are scanned, it shows they are missing inventory. A video copy of the incident was given to the police department.

Police look for more information in indecent exposure case

The LaGrange Police Department is investigating an indecent exposure case on the 100 block of Bell Road. A witness said she observed a black male, 20 to 25 years old, masturbating outside of her bedroom window. The male was 5-foot-8 and weighted 170 pounds and had chin-length dreadlocks.

The LaGrange Police Department is investigating this incident.
