Police respond to report of public indecency

Public Safety

At 2:34 p.m. on Monday, the LaGrange Police Department responded to reports of indecent exposure on the 100 block of Alford St. A woman admitted to police that she was homeless and had been urinating on the ground.

Upon review, the officer on the scene discovered that the woman had an outstanding probation violation and she was placed under arrest for the warrant due to the violation.

Theft

The LaGrange Police Department responded to a report that someone had allegedly entered a car at 1513 LaFayette Parkway and taken a wallet valued at $20 with $100 cash inside. The alleged theft is estimated to have taken place between midnight and 10 a.m. on Monday.

The LPD determined that the vehicle had been unlocked at the time of the theft, and did not immediately locate any witnesses.

Police are investigating.

 

Damaged commercial property

Around 10 a.m. on Monday, LaGrange Police responded to reports that someone had collided with storage unit doors at Commerce Mini Storage sometime between 11 p.m. Saturday and 8:40 a.m. Monday.

The damage was estimated to be worth $15,000.

Police are investigating.

 

Bike theft

A grey and black mountain bike was allegedly stolen from a Meadow Terrace apartment sometime between 7 p.m. Sunday and 5:30 a.m. Monday.

The bike was estimated to be worth $100.

Police are investigating.

 

No tag lights, no license 

At midnight on Monday, police stopped a car for inoperable tag lights. Upon questioning, the officer discovered that the driver did not have a license.

The driver admitted to being arrested on three earlier occasions for driving without a license, before he was arrested for driving without a license and written a warning for the tag light violation.

 

Stolen weapons

On Sunday, LaGrange Police responded to a report that an individual had allegedly stolen an AR-15 assault rifle, a .22 caliber pump-action rifle and a .22 caliber derringer from a residence on the 200 block of Parker Lane.

Police were not initially able to locate any witnesses and are investigating.

 

Drainage problems

On Sunday at 12:09 p.m., LaGrange Police responded to reports of alleged property damage at the Town & Country Motel. Staff at the hotel found that a bathroom sink drain assembly was missing, causing water to spill onto the floor.

The individual who the room was rented to had been held in the Troup County Jail since July 5, but police suspect one of his family members or associates could have caused the damage prior to checking out of the room at 11 a.m. that day.
