LAGRANGE – The schedule is set.

The Troup National 11-12-year-old all-stars, after rolling to the district championship, will begin play in the Dixie Youth Baseball state tournament on Friday in Eatonton.

It will be an eight-team tournament, and there will be two four-team pools.

The top two teams from each pool will advance to the final four on July 21, also in Eatonton.

First up for Troup National will be a showdown with West Augusta on Friday at 5:45 p.m.

Troup National will play two games on Saturday.

Troup National will play Seminole County at 1:15 p.m., and it will wrap up pool play with a game against Manchester at 8 p.m.

The teams in the other pool are Crawford County, Swainsboro, Taylor County and Wrens.

Troup National, Taylor County and Manchester were all in the District 1 tournament at the Harris Baseball Complex.

Troup National won that tournament with a 4-0 record, and it beat Taylor County in the championship game.

The state winner will advance to the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series in Oxford, Ala. in August.
