Mrs. Susan Smith Brown went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2017 at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Brown was born March 21, 1954 in Atlanta to the late Charles A. Smith and Elise Mullenix Smith. She was actively involved in the First Baptist Church on the Square.  She was retired from West Georgia Medical Center after 32.5 years of service.  She was working part time in the Troup County Clerks of Courts Office as an accounting clerk.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, Charles D. Brown and two daughters, Marian Elise Brown and Melissa Danielle Brown.  In addition to her parents , she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Donald Smith.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.higgninsfuneralhomes.com

The family will receive friends at the First Baptist Church on the Square from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 16, 2017.  The funeral service will directly follow visitation hours at 4 p.m. at the church with Pastor Josh Rhye and Tracey Deavers officiating. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
