Gabrielle Jansen, 22, has joined the LaGrange Daily News as a general assignment reporter.

Jansen graduated from Saint Mary’s College in May with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in communication studies and philosophy.

During her time in college, she wrote for Notre Dame Saint Mary’s newspaper, The Observer.

The daughter of a military veteran, Jansen moved around a lot as a child, so her recent move from Flint, Michigan to LaGrange is just the next big one in her life.

“I am excited to begin my career here in LaGrange where everything feels familiar as a midsize southern town,” Jansen said.

Jansen interned at ABC 12 in Flint and WSBT in South Bend, Indiana.

“We are excited that Gabrielle has joined our staff in LaGrange,” said Daily News Editor Daniel Evans.

“During the interview process, Gabrielle’s enthusiasm and passion for journalism made her the perfect fit for our news team. I know she’s ready to get started telling the stories of the people in LaGrange, Troup County and surrounding communities.”

Jansen will cover news for the Daily News and will also contribute to special sections such as LaGrange Living.
