The LaGrange Police Department arrested a man Tuesday after he allegedly had taken electronics and jewelry from a location on Deal Drive.

Officers responded to a call of a burglarly at 113 Deal Drive at around 12:11 p.m. The victim said he or she saw the suspect leave the location in a burgundy color Chevrolet Trailblazer.

The vehicle was stopped on Mooty Bridge Road and items stolen recovered in the cargo area of the vehicle. The man was taken into custody.

Couple allegedly takes from Home Depot

A male and a female allegedly entered Home Depot and took a kennel and Dewalt drill combo on Monday night. After walking out of camera view, the male and female subjects separated and the male walked to the customer service desk with the combo set in hand. The male subject told an employee that he wanted to return the item but that he did not have a receipt. The subject provided a Georgia driver’s license and the return was processed. The amount of $277.13 was then placed on a Home Depot gift card and given to the subject.

The subjects then selected several other items and checked out. The gift card was used to purchase those items for the amount of $120.47.

Trailer taken on Curran Avenue

A man stated that his father’s trailer, estimated at $800, was stolen in the process of moving to Curran Avenue on Monday. He stated he left it at 5 p.m. and when he returned the next day it was missing.

TV taken from home on Bell Street

A man’s home on Bell Street was broken into and his 32” Samsung TV taken between 6:30 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Monday. The TV was valued at $180. The man showed police where the dressers in his bedroom had been ransacked and where his missing TV was taken from. The man also showed police where the TV in the living room had been moved to the kitchen floor. The man’s side window screen was missing and the window was partially open.

Woman allegedly tries to return stolen items

A woman allegedly tried to return stolen items at Piggly Wiggly on South Greenwood Street on Monday. The store manager on duty said the woman entered the store to return some items, but when she looked the items up she found they were not purchased at the S. Greenwood location.

The manager said that the female then said that she must have purchased the items at the other location. The security cameras show the female enter the store 21 minutes before she talked to the manager and continued into the store. The manager observed the female pick up approximately three items, and walk toward aisle seven where she then concealed the items into a black purse. After almost 10 minutes, the female walked toward the exit but not before grabbing an empty shopping bag from a register. After grabbing the bag, the female exited the store only to return with items inside of the bag. The manager said that when the female came back inside of the store, she had placed a hat and glasses on, which the manager said she believes was to conceal her identity.

The manager said the items the female tried to return were ThermaCare patches valued at $8.99, Pepcid Tablets valued at $12.95 and ORS Olive Oil valued at $9.99. The total value of items equal $34.17.
