William H. Perdue

William H. Perdue, 85, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Born December 18, 1931, in Troup County, Mr. Perdue was the son of the late Terrell and Mamie Sivell Perdue.

A mechanical engineer, He retired from Milliken after 45 plus years of service, having started with Callaway Mills.

Mr. Perdue was an Air Force veteran and owned and operated Perdue Rentals for 37 years.

A member of Dunson Baptist Church, he also attended Mountville Baptist Church, and had been a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church for 50 years.  Mr. Perdue was a unique and loving man and was the patriarch of his family that he loved so much.

Survivors include his son, Carl Frank Perdue of LaGrange; grandchildren, Crystal (Cristi) and Chris McWhorter of Mountville, Hank and Jennifer Hinkle and Keith Hinkle, all of LaGrange; sister, Patricia Folsom of Fayetteville; brother and sister in-law, Joel and Joan Perdue of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Harley Joyce Bonner, Michael Lamar Bonner, Sarah Isabelle McWhorter, Aubree Hinkle, Zoey Hinkle, Steven Hinkle, Colby  Hinkle, Christopher McWhorter II,  Breanna McWhorter; and a great-great-grandson, Brett Bonner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Murphy Perdue, a daughter, Joyce Perdue Gay, and a granddaughter, Holly Perdue.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 21, at Dunson Baptist Church.

The Reverends Dwayne Perdue and Kenneth Cole will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends from 6  p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday night at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home.
