Gold watch stolen from house on Sanford Avenue

A man’s gold Michael Kors watch and $86 was allegedly stolen from his home in between 6 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Sanford Avenue on Thursday. The man said the gold watch was seated on the nightstand by his bed and the cash was located on a dresser that was also near his bed.

Two men arrested for trespassing

Two men, 27 and 33, were arrested for alleged trespassing, loitering and prowling on the 600 block of South Alford Street at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday.

According to the police report, a witness told police that he had been watching the neighbor’s house for three weeks.

Around the time, 911 received the call he said saw two black males both wearing gym shorts, one with no shirt and one with a blue headband came out of the back door of the residence. He confronted both subjects and asked what they were doing inside.

Both fled the scene while he went inside to see what was missing. The only item he could find out of place was a 50 inch LG television.  After the witness identified the two suspects, police arrested them.

Two women arrested for allegedly stealing sandwiches

Two women, 18 and 22, were cited for allegedly shoplifting sandwiches from the Publix on Commerce Avenue at 4:59 p.m. on Thursday. The manager told police that the women were

seen on video taking Publix of four sub sandwiches valued at $29.81. The woman said they were just hungry. The stolen property was returned to Publix.
