Mr. Dewell W. Benefield, 66, of LaGrange passed away Saturday morning surrounded by his loving family at the home of his son. Mr. Benefield was born June 24, 1951, in LaGrange the son of the late Charlie Will and Sara Folds Benefield.

Mr. Benefield was a member of Word of Grace Church and event planner for National Management of Lagrange College. He was also the brother-in-law of the late probate judge of Troup County, Mr. Gwen Prescott.

Survivors include his loving wife Mrs. Jackie Walters Benefield; daughter and son-in-law: Tracey and Brent Storey; and sons and daughters-in-law: Burt and Stacey Benefield and Brandon and Holley Benefield; nine grandchildren; sister Mrs. Elaine Prescott; and a number of nieces and nephews. All of Mr. Benefield’s family are of LaGrange

A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 1,2017, from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. from the Old Pathway Baptist Church. The memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. with The Revs Bill Pemberton and Sam Mitchell officiating.
