Dawn Gloria Mealer Lewis

Dawn Gloria Mealer Lewis passed away Thursday at her home.
She was born on Sept. 26, 1943, to the late Henry Mealer and Hattie D. Robinson in LaGrange, Georgia.
She attended and graduated from East Depot High School in LaGrange. She was the Class Queen in her Senior Year of high school.
Dawn gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
She relocated to Rochester, New York and gained employment at Eastman Kodak Company, for 27 years, and she retired from Kodak in 1999. After retirement, she worked at Cooper Vision for eight years until she moved south.
While in Rochester, she joined Aenon Baptist Church and was a faithful member for over 50 years. Upon returning to LaGrange, she joined the Arbor Grove Baptist Church under Pastor Stephen Chambers. She was faithful in attendance until her health declined.
Survivors include her loving husband, Mr. Edward P. Lewis, her children, Gloria Cox-Windom, Rochester, NY; Apostle Dr. Dwan Jackson (Alfred) Albany, GA, one step-brother, Gregory Robinson; three step-children, Gina Duncan (Jonathan) Marietta, GA, Edward P. Lewis, Jr. (Emma), Carlisle, England, Evell Lewis Quinn, Weymouth, MS; 16 grandchildren, one great grandson, one aunt, Helen Williams, Rochester, NY; one uncle, James Harrell (Willie Mae), LaGrange, GA; and a host of other family and great friends from far and near.
The Celebration of Life Service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Arbor Grove Baptist Church. Pastor Stephen Chamber will officiate. Burial will follow at Southview Cemetery.

The family will be at their home 140 North Davis Road, Apartment 810 and will receive family and friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Arbor Grove Baptist Church.
