FAIRBURN – It’s two up and two down in region play for the Troup Lady Tigers.
After opening its Region 5-AAAA schedule with a big home win over Chapel Hill last week, Troup went on the road and thumped Sandy Creek 11-0 on Tuesday.
Senior catcher Maddie Weathers, who has been on a tear since the season began, was 3-for-4 with four RBIs.
Leadoff hitter Kayla Lane had three hits with four runs scored, and Christina Garcia had three hits with an RBI and two runs scored.
Hadley Livingston had two hits and two RBIs, Abby Taylor and Olivia McInvale each had two hits with an RBI, and Madison McCartney and Skye Loftin each had a hit and an RBI.
Taylor pitched 4 2/3 innings to get the win, and she limited Sandy Creek to three hits while striking out three.
McCartney relieved Taylor and got the final out.
Troup is off until Aug. 22 when it hosts LaGrange in a region game.
