Win a car for good behavior

Mornings are hard, especially for teenagers who often struggle more than most to get at school on time.

Students at Troup High School are receiving a little extra motivation this yeah however, thanks to the donation of a new car from Kia of LaGrange.

Students who maintain good grades, have good behavior and good attendance will be entered to win a 2017 Kia Rio.

There’s a stricter policy on school attendance this year, so Troup High is doing its best to get students excited about attending class. The car giveaway from Kia gives a great incentive for students to attend all of their classes at Troup County High School.

Those who meet standards of good behavior, good grades and attendance will have their names put in for the drawing every nine weeks.

At the end of the year, the school will draw one name for the car. Along the way, the school will draw names from the students entered for smaller giveaways, like gift cards and t-shirts, every nine weeks.

The car is a good incentive to get students to attend class because it gives them something to care for every day of the school year. Students cannot miss the same class four times without facing penalties, such as weekend classes or summer school.

Studies show that regular attendance results in improved grades. That only makes sense. The more students are in class, the more they should learn.

We applaud the school and Kia of LaGrange for this partnership. At the end of the school year, a student is going to have a brand new car and they are going to be thankful that they worked hard this year.
