Anna Philpot

The Celebration of Life Service for Miss Anna Philpot will be Monday at 11:00AM in the chapel of the Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.    Rev. Allen Simpson will officiate.   Burial will be in the Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

Miss Philpot, a native of Hogansville, was born June 12, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Fannie Reid Philpot and John Philpot.  She moved to Detroit, Michigan and was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She enjoyed attending the National Baptist Convention annually with her sister Linnie.   Anna was a United States Army veteran.  She also received her degree from Washtenaw Community College, Ann Arbor, Michigan.   She was also a United States postal worker.   

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sisters: Linnie Ann Philpot and Janie Philpot; two brothers: John Philpot and Thomas Philpot; nephews and nieces; many cousins; a special foster daughter, Sandra Green and her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Julia; two sisters: Arkarah McNiel and Magdalene Philpot; and one brother, James Philpot.
