More than $700 worth of gym equipment stolen

More than $700 worth of gym equipment and a revolver were allegedly stolen from a man’s 2007 Ford F-150 between 10 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday. The man said he had his truck parked at the LaGrange Mall, the gym at LaGrange College and at his apartment during that time period. The man told police that he regularly locks his truck and that his girlfriend’s checkbook was also taken. Items taken included a gym bag valued at $30, workout supplements valued at $120, lifting wrist bands valued at $20, headphones valued at $20, a checkbook valued at $1 and a silver Rosse .44 special revolver valued at $600, totaling $791.

Woman given bad check

A woman told police that she was given a bad check on Tuesday. The woman said a friend asked her if she could use her checking account for a third person. The woman told police that $1,400 was then deposited in her account and that she and her friend went to Kroger to take the money off of her debit card. The woman said she then gave the money to her friend and used her debit card for the next two days. When she later went to get gas, her card was then declined and she found out that her account was overdrawn by $1,400.
