Laura A. Yarbrough, age 81, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2017, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange.  She was born in Roanoke, Alabama, on March 6, 1936.

Mrs. Yarbrough is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jim Yarbrough of LaGrange, GA; one daughter, Susan Hutchinson of Rome, GA; one son, Mike Yarbrough of LaGrange; two grandchildren, Kelli Karanovich of Rome, GA, and William Yarbrough of Norfolk, VVA; two great-grandchildren, Val and Kyra Karanovich of Rome, GA; four sisters, Patsy Irvin of Roanoke, Jenny Allen of Columbus, Edith Harrington of Birmingham, and Margie Halsey of Lafayette; and one brother, Doug “Bud” Allen of Birmingham.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Lois Allen of Roanoke and by one brother and four sisters.

Mrs. Yarbrough graduated from Handley High School in Roanoke, Alabama, in 1954.  She was always at the top of her high school classes, active in clubs and a varsity cheerleader for the Handley Tigers.  Most of her life was that of a homemaker.  She worked for several years at the Hallmark Store in LaGrange which she enjoyed very much.  Nini, as she was known to family, will be missed very much.  We all loved her.  Mrs. Yarbrough was an active member of the Church of Christ as long as her health allowed.  It was her wish that no service be held, that she be cremated and buried in Randolph Memory Gardens near Roanoke, Alabama.

A private family burial ceremony will be held at a later date.
