Lady Tigers drop road game

CARROLLTON – Central-Carroll, the defending Class AAAA state champion, beat Troup 10-2 on Tuesday in a Region 5-AAAA softball game.

The game was played in Carrollton.

Troup fell to 3-2 in the region, and it is tied for third place with Chapel Hill.

Troup beat Chapel Hill 8-4 earlier this month.

In Tuesday’s game, Troup scored single runs in the second and third innings.

Maddie Weathers had three hits with a run scored for Troup, and Madison McCartney had two hits with a run scored.

Kayla Lane and Skye Loftin each had a hit.

Troup will visit Brookstone today before returning to region play on Sept. 5 at Chapel Hill.
