Mrs. Tina Diann Whitten Pope, age 46, of Franklin passed away Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, after a valiant fight with cancer.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pope will be conducted Friday Sept. 1, 2017, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Stutts Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Janney officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will accept guests at Stutts Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Pope was born February 13, 1971, in Newnan to Charles Gordon Whitten and Judy Diann Rogers Massa.

She was a faithful member of Ridgeway Baptist Church, where she served as Church Secretary for many years. Her love for her Lord and Savior led her to sing in the church choir. She was also a favorite teacher of children in Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

When she graduated high school, she went to work for Milliken in the business office as a secretary. She later served in the same capacity at Heard County Middle School. After the birth of her second child, she decided to devote her time to mankind’s greatest profession, that of a full time mother.

She enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her flowers and vegetables. The garden provided many options for her other passion: cooking. Family gatherings with a home cooked meal were her among her favorite times.

She loved her family and friends and was always willing to lend a helping hand when anyone was in need.

Survivors include: her husband, Chuck Pope; daughter, Madison Pope; son, Whit Pope; mother, Judy Massa and her husband, Tim; father, Gordon Whitten; two brothers: Ricky Whitten and Chuck Whitten; mother-in-law, Becky Pope; and a number of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Tinsley.
