A woman’s house was allegedly burglarized and $200 and a television were taken from her home at Handley Street between Sunday at 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning.

The woman told police she left on Sunday and when she returned, her house was ransacked with the $200 taken from the top dresser in the master bedroom and the TV taken from the living room. The woman told police this is the fourth time her house has been broken into.

According to the police report, officers found a shoe print on the front door, and the door frame was damaged as a result of the door being kicked in. There were pry marks on the back door and two bedroom windows.

Items stolen from two cars

A man’s code reader and briefcase containing business checks were taken from his Ford Five Hundred at the 300 block of Ware Street between 11 p.m. Monday and Tuesday morning.

The man said he left the code scanner valued at $200 and the briefcase containing business checks, his business license, tax ID forms, tag receipt, and copies of his and his two partners’ IDs.

The vehicle was parked in his driveway. The briefcase was valued at $100.

A woman’s Michael Kors wallet was stolen from her red Toyota Corolla at a parking lot on Lincoln Street between Tuesday at 4 p.m. and Wednesday at 4 a.m.

The woman told police that she thought she locked her door but may not have since she was in a rush to get to work.

The woman said she found the glove compartment of her car open and her wallet, containing her credit card, driver’s license and social security card, missing.

Man arrested for DUI

A man, 59, was arrested for driving under the influence and improper backing after backing his green Ford F-250 into a silver Ford Mustang at the intersection of Railroad Street and Barnard Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police report, officers responded to the scene where they talked to the man, who took blame for the accident. He had a standard transmission, and he rolled back from the stop sign when he struck the Ford Mustang.

While talking to him, police noticed a strong smell of alcohol from his breath and that he was unsteady when standing.

After consenting to an Alco-Sensor test, the man blew .272, which is a high number, and was arrested.
