Mr. Cecil Eugene ”Gene” Yawn,  81, of  LaGrange died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, surrounded by his family. Gene was a member of Central Baptist Church in Eastman, Georgia. Gene was the son of the late Ethel & Sid Yawn of Eastman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Eva “Tadpole” Yawn, and brothers: Wilton, Russell, and Jack Yawn.

He is survived by two sons: Rusty (Judy) Yawn.  LaGrange and Tracy (Amy) Yawn, Eastman, Ga.; One Brother: Kay Yawn, of Brunswick, Ga: three grandsons, Jason (Shonna) Yawn of LaGrange, Heath Yawn of Marietta, Ga, and Jordan Yawn of Eastman, Ga. Three great grandsons, Kyle Bushey, Micheal Everett and Cody Yawn.

His wishes were to donate his body to science when he passed away, in hope that the use of research on his body could lead the fight to curing deadly diseases. There will not be any services. The one request that Gene made was that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Western Heights Baptist Church, 2382 West Point Road,  or online at westernheights.net in memory of Gene Yawn.
