Several county buildings received minor damage during Tropical Storm Irma early this week.

The damages were primarily as the result of leaks caused by the unusually heavy rain, according to County Manager Tod Tentler. As of Thursday morning, it was believed that all damages would be covered under the county’s insurance.

The Troup County Government Center, the Griggs Center and other buildings are all expected to have received all necessary repairs in the next week.

The storm came through on Monday and dropped an estimated six inches of rain in LaGrange.

Most of the damage in the county was due to fallen trees, which caused road crews to work throughout the day Monday and into Tuesday.

Most households in LaGrange had power restored by Tuesday morning.
