A house fire occurred at the 500 block of South Lewis Street Wednesday around 12:48 p.m.

According to the LaGrange Fire Department press release, no one was home during the fire. Firefighters found the fire in the basement of the house and extinguished it. According to the report, the basement area was given moderate damage estimated to be $6,000, including property and contents.

Investigators have listed the cause of the fire undetermined.
