Mr. Larry L. Shelnutt,  63, of Lagrange passed away Friday at Wellstar West Georgia Health. Larry was born April 4, 1954, in Heard County the son of the later Mallory Lewis and Mrs. Rachel Folds Shelnutt. Mr. Shelnutt was a member of the Cathedral of Praise of LaGrange and was a retired police office with West Point, Greenville and Grantville Police Department’s. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Wayne Shelnutt, Shirley Hester, Hulett Shelnutt, Rachel Shelnutt and Mallory Shelnutt.

Survivors include : his wife: Brenda J Shelnutt, LaGrange, Ga. two daughters and sons-in-law:  Lavonia and Gene Benefield, Roanoke, Alabama. Angel and (Lamar Turnbough) Shelnutt, LaGrange, GA. Two sons: Dorsey Lyon, LaGrange, GA. Stephen & Cynthia Shelnutt, Roopville, GA.

Six grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Sister: Sara (Joe Sheets) Douglas, Hogansville, Ga. Brother: Charles Shelnutt, LaGrange, GA.

A number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Larry L. Shelnutt will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, from the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with Reverend Tina Deese officiating.

Interment will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home (Monday) from noon until 2 p.m. Funeral services for Mr. Larry L. Shelnutt are by Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home.
