CARROLLTON – The LaGrange Lady Grangers completed their Region 5-AAAA softball schedule with a 9-1 road loss to Central-Carroll on Monday.

LaGrange (15-8 overall) finished with an 8-4 region record, and it will be the number three seed for the region tournament.

LaGrange will play the number six seed in a best-of-three series with a trip to the state playoffs on the line.

Chapel Hill and Central-Carroll are the top two seeds, and they will play for the region championship.

LaGrange could have earned a top two seed with a win over Central-Carroll, but it wasn’t meant to be.

LaGrange took the lead with a run in the top of the fourth, but Central-Carroll went on top with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, and it continued to pull away.

Kadaysha Griffin had a solo home run for LaGrange, and Destiny Fitzpatrick had a pair of hits.

Malone Aldridge and Katelynn Mobley each had one hit for LaGrange.

While LaGrange has completed region play, it still has two games left in the regular season.

LaGrange visits Heard County today before closing the regular season with a game at Callaway on Wednesday.
