DOUGLASVILLE – It was more of the same for the Troup Tigers.

Troup has been one of the state’s most prolific scoring teams this season, and that trend continued on Friday with the start of Region 5-AAAA play.

With quarterback Montez Crowe continuing to have his way with opposing defenses, Troup (5-0) rolled to a 48-12 victory over Chapel Hill to improve to 5-0.

Crowe was 14-of-24 for 364 yards with five touchdowns, and he completed passes to five different receivers.

Troup’s defense also excelled, limiting Chapel Hill to a season-low 12 points.

The Tigers led 27-6 at the half, and they scored 21 more points in the second half to win going away.

Jamari Thrash, who has had a monster debut season at Troup, had four catches for 146 yards with two touchdowns.

Thrash now has 21 catches for 564 yards, and he’s on pace for a 1,000-yard season.

Also in the Chapel Hill game, Kobe Hudson had three catches for 85 yards with a pair of touchdowns,.

Running back Tyree Carlisle had two receptions for 79 yards with a touchdown.

Tight end Kenly Brinwell had two catches for 27 yards, Ja’Rell Smith has one reception for 14 yards, and Mark-Anthony Dixon had two catches for 10 yards.

Carlisle headlined the Troup running attack with seven carries for 30 yards, and he scored two touchdowns on the ground.

Crowe has completed 82-of-123 passes for 1,680 yards this season with 16 touchdowns, and he has thrown for 300 or more yards in three games.
