Etta Mae Zeigel Roberts, 68, of 350 Gordon Road, Saluda, NC, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House.

She was born Nov. 4, 1948, in LaGrange, GA.  A graduate of Troup High School, she worked as a medical admissions clerk at West Georgia Medical Center for 30 years.  Etta was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority. She joined the Laureate Pi chapter in LaGrange in 1974 and transferred to the Laureate Alpha Epsilon chapter of Henderson County in 2013 when she moved from Georgia to North Carolina.  Etta had a perfect attendance record in her 43 years of service to the sorority.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Henry Roberts, Sr., of Pine Mountain, GA, in 1996.  She was also preceded in death by her parents the Reverend Eugene and Lucy Zeigel and her sister Linda Britt, all of LaGrange, GA.

She is survived by her sister Jeannette Gordon of Saluda, NC;  brother-in-law William Britt, Jr., of MS; three step-daughters, Christina Burbick and Lynn Floyd of Hartwell, GA, Ann Fincher of Lanett, AL;  one step-son, Joe Roberts, Jr., of Bristow, VA;  four nephews, one niece, and several great-nephews and nieces.

A Memorial Service was held in NC on Sept. 13, 2017.  A friends/ family visitation will be held in LaGrange, GA, on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Franklin Road Baptist Church, LaGrange.  The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m.
