Ms. Linda Starling Kelley, age 59, of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on Sunday Oct. 8, 2017, at her residence.

A native of Lanett, Alabama and LaGrange, Georgia, Linda attended Columbus State University where she graduated, with honors, earning a Master’s Degree in Special Education. After graduation, she taught at LaGrange High School for 24 years, before her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Starling; her grandmother, Annie Thrower; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Linda was a member of the Lanett Congregational Christian Church in Lanett and served in different capacities and roles within the church over the years.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Claudia Parrish of LaGrange, GA; her ex-husband, Larry Kelley of LaGrange, GA; her sisters: Jennifer (Jerry) Coleman of West Point, GA; JoAnn  (Hugh) Daniel of Lanett, AL; Clara Pitts of Valley, AL; her brother, Tommy Starling of Valley, AL.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at 2 p.m. EDT at the Lanett Congregational Christian Church with interment following in Johnson Memorial Gardens.  The Rev. Danny Spears will be officiating. Her family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home, 3700 20th Avenue, Valley, Alabama 36854, Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. EDT until 8 p.m. EDT.

Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that memorials be made in her name to the Lanett Congregational Christian Church, 900 South 7th Avenue, Lanett, Alabama 36863.
